Rejoice, rejoice! What had vanished has now returned.
To give voice to victims and lovers spurned.
Temperatures cool, but emotions run hotter.
Read all about it, in this week's Blotter.

Disorderly Conduct
Occurred 10:30am on 9/17
1100 West Dundee Road – BGHS
Dean of Students reported that a sixteen year old male student exposed himself which was witnessed by a female student.  The female student does not want to sign complaints and the school will deal with the offender.
They call it "exposing himself". He calls it "asking her to Homecoming".

Burglary from Vehicle
Occurred between 11:30pm on 9/24 and 7am on 9/25
1-100 Block of Chestnut Terrace
Resident reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicles and took a pair of sunglasses and three bottles of beer.
And then went to shoot a commercial for Corona? If you're going to the trouble of breaking into a car, aim higher, friends.

Harassment by Telephone
Occurred 10am on 9/25
700 Block of Chaucer Way
Resident stated that he received a phone call where the caller kept repeating the word evil.  Then the resident heard a baby crying and the caller hung up.  The resident does not know the person to whom the phone number registers.  Officer attempted to call the number and received a full voice mail.
Reason #482 to not have a baby: Ruins prank calls.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Occurred 9:35pm on 9/26
700 Block of Grove Drive
Resident reported that a downstairs neighbor was smoking marijuana.  Officers located the unit and were greeted by a strong odor of cannabis.  The resident allowed officers to enter the apartment where they found numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia.  The resident was arrested and charged.
1) Same location as that string of ridiculous noise complaints a while back. Remind me never to live in this complex. 2) If you're smoking pot and the cops knock on the door, just a suggestion, DON'T OPEN THE DOOR.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle
Occurred between 2pm on 9/27 and 7am on 9/28
1200 Block of Bristol Lane
Resident reported that he had difficulty opening his garage door and found the beam between his door and that of his neighbor had been damaged.  The resident believes the neighbor may have caused the damage.  Officer attempted to contact the neighbor with negative results.
Operator: 911, What's your emergency?
Caller: I can't open my garage door!
Operator: Re you injured? Is somebody stuck inside?
Caller: No, it's just super inconvenient, and I'm pretty sure my asshole neighbor is responsible. Send someone quickly!
Operator: I hate my job.

Information for Police
Occurred 5pm on 9/29
Buffalo Grove
Resident reported that her sixteen year old son has not returned home from school.  She made contact with the son who stated that he is in Chicago to attend a concert.  This is the third incident of this type in the past couple of weeks.
Damn kids and their damn rock and roll.

Information for Police
Occurred between 9/1 and 9/29
2150 Lake Cook Road – Riverwalk Office Center
Employee reported that a subject that also works in the building meets her each morning when she comes to work.  The subject makes comments and asks her for a date.  The subject won’t take no for an answer.  The employee will pursue this if the behavior continues.
I am very curious what the "comments" are before he asks her for a date.

Suspicious Person
Occurred 11:10am on 9/30
300 Block of Navajo Trail
Resident reported seeing a male subject picking through garbage at the curb and then approaching houses.  Officer located the subject who stated that he was scavenging for usable items but denied approaching houses.  The subject has no criminal background and was allowed to leave the area.
Because the true punishment is being forced to stay in Buffalo Grove.

Information for Police
Occurred 12:35pm on 9/30
5 Villa Verde – Parking Lot
Resident reported that her vehicle was damaged overnight by an unknown offender.  The resident showed the officer various locations on the car that had rust spots which appeared to the officer to be normal ten year old vehicle wear and tear.  The resident stated that when she bought the car a year ago the rust was not there.
The Rustler strikes again! Mwhaha. Mwahahaha. Oh, and by "Rustler", I mean rain+time.

This has been under the "Stuff From the Station" section all week.
Village President Elliott Hartstein has proclaimed that Sunday, October 31, 2010 shall be known as TRICK-OR-TREAT DAY in Buffalo Grove. President Hartstein asks both children and their parents to cooperate in limiting the time of trick or treat activities between the hours of 2pm and 7pm.
What a crazy coincidence that this new holiday falls on the same day as Halloween, traditionally associated with the practice of Trick-or-Treating. Wtf is the point of this? Is BG too good for Halloween that we need to create a new holiday? The answer is apparently yes.

The power of the Village President makes me regret leaving my promising career in BG politics for this stupid Washington, DC nonsense
