Blotter Round-up 10/29/10 10/29/2010
I have been avidly following Buffalo Grove politics recently. Why, you ask? Because you have no job and have entirely too much time on your hands, you ask? Well, yes, probably. But also because I think the fervor the Recall of Lisa Stone stirs is hilarious and fascinating. Here's a recent article on the whole issue, it already has over 250 comments. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20101027/news/710289979/. For the record, I support Stone's recall and if you vote in BG or have family that does, make sure they vote on the issue. And now, the Blotter. Harassment by Telephone Occurred 1:50pm on 10/20 1250 Barclay Boulevard – IPA/SMS Company official reported that the company has received over one hundred and fifty phone calls from a collections company looking for one of two former employees. The callers won’t take no for an answer. Officer attempted to contact the company but was hung up on. No means No! Stop non-consensual calling! Information for Police Occurred 6pm on 10/22 Old Barn Court Resident requested that the officers tell him if his son’s former girlfriend has a suspended driver’s license. The officer informed the resident that that information was not available to him. Hello, Officer. Would it be possible for you to tell me information that would allow me to seek vengeance against a she-devil that bewitched my son? No? Well, nevermind then. Suspicious Auto Occurred 3:30pm on 10/23 10 West Dundee Road – Mobil Gas Station Complainant reported seeing two subjects in a vehicle. One of the subjects went into the store and the other went up to another car at a pump and the complainant thought he saw a hand to hand transaction take place. Officer went to the registered owner’s address of the vehicle but did not make contact with anyone. Paranoid much? That's called a handshake, buddy. Public Indecency Occurred 4:25pm on 10/24 1000 Block of Fremont Court West Resident reported a male subject standing behind a tree, exposing himself, with children present in the area. Officers made contact with the offender who stated that he knew why the officers were there, stating “yeah, I was stupid; I know I shouldn’t have been doing that”. Subject was arrested and charged. What's indecent is that he didn't put a little more thought into this. I bet now that his name's in the blotter he feels totally exposed. Theft over $300 Occurred between 6:30am and 9:30am on 10/26 1535 North Barclay Boulevard – Creative Group, Inc. Company official reported that four boxes containing fourteen Sony PSP devices were placed on the shipping dock for pick up. Prior to the official pick up, employees noted that someone unknown took the boxes, leaving the shipping label behind. The property is valued at $3,249.87. For a company called Creative Group, they could have been a little more original with where they put their PSPs. Customer Management Dispute Occurred 9:30pm on 10/26 79 North McHenry Road – Jewel Store official reported that a customer was attempting to return crab legs but that she did not have a receipt for them, which is required for a return. The Hispanic customer cited a racial identity issue for not getting a refund. The customer was advised to return to speak with the seafood manager the following day which she declined to do. After receiving corporate contact information, the customer grabbed her crab legs, and yelled out a profane slur as she left the store. Some people can just be so shellfish. Citizen Assist Occurred 11:10am on 10/27 Oak Creek Drive Resident reported an eighty four year old male subject in the common area of the complex, using a long kitchen knife to cut tree branches. The subject did not speak or understand English; however, officers were able to remove the knife from the subject’s hand. With the help of neighbors, it was determined where the subject lives and he was returned home. As my brother noted (to give credit where credit is due), How did they know he is 84 if he couldn't speak or understand English. Theft under $300 Occurred 12:25pm on 10/27 600 Block of Wyngate Lane Resident returned home to see a male subject on her front lawn. As she approached, the subject ran off to a dark four door car, get into the passenger side and the car took off. The subject was described as a male wearing a blue jacket and dark pants, possibly jeans. Taken from the lawn was a political sign. I know I've skipped a bunch of weeks, but there's been a string of these happening. I'm calling these people that take it upon themselves to take action Signilanties. Non Traffic Accident Occurred 7am on 10/28 600 Block of Hapsfield Lane Resident stated that when he was exiting from the underground garage, the overhead door came down prematurely and scratched the top of his vehicle. The resident stated that this had occurred before and the homeowner’s association refused to accept responsibility. You just know there's a guard or kid somewhere with the garage door opener watching for cars to go in and out. Neighbor Problem Occurred 6pm on 10/28 300 Block of Satinwood Court North Resident reported that she has been having problems with her neighbors since the spring, when the neighbor cut the TV cable thinking it to be a root. During the summer the resident found a dead chipmunk and then a dead bird by her unit and the resident believes they were placed there by the neighbors for the resident calling the homeowner’s association. Today, the resident again found a dead bird on her porch. Officer checked and found a smudge on the front door glass with a small amount of blood and some feathers. The officer indicated this to the resident and told her the bird may have flown into the door on its own. This explanation was not acceptable to the resident. "Your explanation is not acceptable to me. Find a different one, more in line with my presumptions. Immediately." CommentsOhio Fri, 29 Oct 2010 08:03:54 I'm with Ms. Satinwood Court North. There is no way that that bird flew into the glass and died. Might as well call it the Magic Window Theory... Leave a Reply |
