Suspicious Auto
Occurred 4:50pm on 8/20
300 Block of Indian Hill Drive
Resident reported a vehicle pulling into the driveway of a neighbor’s home and a vehicle pulled to the front of the house.  A male subject from the car in the driveway got out and went to the rear of the house then returned and left in the vehicle on the street.  Officers checked and found eviction notices on the front door and the vehicle in the driveway registering to that address.
I didn’t realize that getting evicted means you have to give up your car too.

2900 Block of Roslyn Lane
Resident reported that his daughter placed a text book for sale on line.  A buyer stated that he would send a check for $2,999.00 and told the daughter to cash the check, take out the cost of the text and return the remaining funds via Western Union.  The residents suspected this to be a scam and they were advised not to open any more emails from this subject.
I really hope the scammer had a sense of irony and that it was an Introduction to Criminal Justice book.


Noise Complaint
Occurred 11:05pm on 8/21
700 Block of Grove Drive
Resident reported that a neighbor, with whom she has had noise issues, left her apartment and left the music playing.  Officer entered the resident’s apartment, and could hear the music but felt it was not excessive.  Officer spoke with the neighbor at a later time and she stated that she would turn the music off in the future to avoid additional difficulties.

Neighbor Problem
Occurred 7am on 8/23
700 Block of Grove Drive
Resident reported that her downstairs neighbor had her TV and music on too loud.  Officers found the noise coming from the neighbor not to be excessive.  This is an on going problem and Crime Prevention Officer Jamil responded to mediate.
Same address as above. This woman must be a pleasure to live near.

Neighbor Problem
Occurred 7:30pm on 8/23
700 Block of Grove Drive
Resident reported that her upstairs neighbor is stomping on the floor.  Officers spoke with the neighbor who stated that no one was stomping on the floor.  Officer heard no noise while on scene.
How much do you want to bet that even though it’s an apartment complex, it’s the same person?

Ambulance Assist
Occurred 8/24 at 1530
Buffalo Grove
Subject became combative while Officers where assisting BGFD with an Involuntary Committal. Subject was placed on a cot where he was strapped in for his own safety and transported.
He didn’t find it comfortable, but it’s in fact a cot above the rest.

Customer Management Dispute
Occurred 08/24 at 2040
2700 Block of North Main Street
Customer upset because his pizza order was incorrect. The Management stated they would remove the charge from his credit card within 24 hours, which the customer was not happy with. The subject left without the pizza.
You called the cops and you didn’t even take the pizza? Lame, Man, lame.

Theft Under $300
Occurred between 8/19 and 8/24
100 Block of Steeple Drive
Resident stated that she found her ex boyfriend in her apartment waiting for her to talk.  They argued and he left.  The resident stated she then found three school text books that she just purchased were missing.  The ex denied taking the books.
I’d be less concerned about the books and more concerned that my ex had the ability to lie in wait for me inside my apartment.

Occurred 7:50pm on 8/26
500 Block of LaSalle Lane
Resident reported a steak knife with blood around it, lying in the street.  Officers located the four inch Calphalon steak knife with a black handle.  The dried substance around the knife was field tested and was not blood.  The knife was packaged and placed into evidence.
Probably the only steak-out BGPD gets to do.

(This gem was included under “Stuff From the Station”, which usually includes warnings about a rash of car burglaries, alerts to a K9 demonstration, etc)
Made it back from the Cub game.  It think the Nationals have a ways to go to reach the Cubs which means a lot of climbing up.
Ummm...what?

I'm stopping my feet right now in DC...I feel like BGPD are about to get a call from a lovely lady at 700 Block of Grove Drive
